Getting Started with Real-Time Experiences via Playtech Bingo

Everything you need to know about Real-Time Experiences set up via Playtech Bingo

Overview

This guide will help you get up and running quickly with Anthem’s in-session player experiences via the Playtech Bingo platform. By the end, you’ll be able to go live and improve player engagement in real time.

Requirements

  • A subscription to Future Anthem’s Real-Time Experience module
  • Operating on Playtech Bingo platform, with the bonus engine enabled
  • Ability to authorise bonus budget
  • Contact with Playtech account manager

Quick Start Checklist

Step 1: Contact your Playtech account manager to request transactional data to be real-time bingo room data to be streamedlined to Future Anthem

  • Data is securely streamed directly from the Playtech Bingo data hubplatform to Future Anthem
  • Historical transactional data is transferred to Future Anthem

Step 2: Future Anthem platform begins model training, and provides initial estimates of monthly bonus spend (by sub-brand if applicable)

  • You will have the opportunity to review the spend estimates, by brand and player group, and feedback to the team

Step 3: Agreed budget level is then configured in the Anthem and Playtech platforms – target and control proportions are varied to conform to budgets

  • The system is deployed in staging and rigorously tested between Anthem and Playtech teams

Step 4: Go-live date agreed

  • Your account manager will share regular ROI reporting data, based on a robust target vs control methodology

Step-by-Step Setup

Step 1: Request module activation with Future Anthem account manager and transactional data transfer with your Playtech account manager

Goal: Turn on real-time data flow to allow system training and configuration

  • Ask your Playtech Account Manager to allow Future Anthem to receive the Bingo transactional data feed and to send the historical transactional data for the previous 6 months enable the data integration to Future Anthem
  • Current bonus award levels should be supplied – the system will be configured to award dynamically to players based on their behaviour, but within a set of agreed values. The system can award both free tickets and cash bonuses.
  • Once data transfer is authorised, Anthem will manage the remaining configuration steps.

Key insight: It really is as simple as requesting from your Playtech account manager.

Troubleshooting: If you do not normally deal with the account manager, try and establish who does so within your team.

Step 2: Bonus estimates and budget

Goal: Use estimates to discuss and agree initial bonus budget

  • Based on player volumes and behaviours, an initial estimate of monthly bonus spend by player group, bonus value, and brand will be supplied.
  • Typically, you will supply your typical bonus values, and the system will be configured towards these, optimising for individual players.  However, other values can be used if desired.
  • You should review this and confirm if it’s within your budget, or alternatively if you want to target a different value initially.
  • Bonus estimates will be based on the system running at full capacity, with a 10% control group (i.e. 10% of players who should get an award are held back). To conform to lower budgets, control group proportions will be increased.

Key insight: The objective of this product is to increase efficiency of existing bonus spend, rather than create net new spend

Important settings to note:
  • Budget frequency: While agreed as a monthly value, this will actually be set as a daily figure
  • Budget amount: If a lower budget is set for go live, this can be increased at any time

Step 3: Configuration and test deployment

Goal: Deploy the production system for testing

The key action here is your budget sign off – we will do the rest.

Deployment: The full system of models and decisioning will be deployed against the production data stream, to the test Bonus API.

Testing: Rigorous testing is carried out between the Anthem and Playtech teams, to both ensure the system is performing as expected, and all player facing elements are working, down to supplier level.

Step 4: Go live and performance monitoring

Goal: Interact with players and review KPIs

  1. System will be monitored post go-live to ensure working as expected
  2. Initial focus is on player experience and confirming that in-game awards are being delivered and consumed
  3. After 4 weeks, the first ROI view will be shared

Success indicators

  • Increase in net revenue (target vs control, net revenue being after bonus cost)
  • Increase in tickets per player (target vs control, key driver of revenue increase)
  • ROI multiplier (revenue return per bonus spend)

Frequently Asked Questions

Do we need to do any integration work?

No – Future Anthem products are fully integrated within the Playtech platform, so you simply need to request activation via your account manager.

Is this a rule-based system?

No – this is a real time machine learning system, which creates predictions of player behaviour after each ticket is settled. However, it also includes a decision engine, which can handle complex logic and has a number of configurable rules available.

Can I track the bonuses issued on my side?

Yes. The free tickets and bonuses are set up as normal, andnormal and will have specific codes so you can directly attribute them.

How is performance monitored?

An advanced measurement framework is in place. Target and control groups are used as the core method of calculating uplift.  The real time system places a proportion of players in the control group at the point of award, ensuring the highest levels of robustness.
