Game Launch - Retention Analysis

Identify the retention rate for your games

Overview

This section is a part of the 'Game Launch' module. This page allows you to track the retention rate across your games. This shows you the games that are sticky and the ones that have the players engaged the most.

This page contains the following visualisations:

Average Retention by Game (table)

This table shows you the average retention rate for all your games from the day they're launched up to 28 days post game launch. You can either filter the table by 'Cohort' or 'Game' to understand the retention rates for your games.

Helpful tip: The date of Day 1 on a new game is ideally taken from a provided metadata source. If this is unavailable, day 1 of a game launch is set as the day the number of spins exceeds 5000 and more than ten players have played the game. This is to exclude any games in test showing as launched.

  • Retention by Cohort - Daily retention is measured using 'Cohort Analysis' and the players are grouped into cohorts based on two factors such as shared player traits and the day a players logs in to play the game after it's release. This filter will help you better understand any specific cohort of players.
  • Retention by Game - This table would measure the daily retention of players for all the games from day 1 of it's release date up to day 28. This will showcase what games bring in the maximum retenion over a period of time.

Helpful tip: For viewing player retention for an individual game on a granular level, you can select a game from filters, and select cohort view as a parameter.

Average Retention by Game (graph)

This visualisation will showcase the trends in player retention for all or selected games. This graph will help you easily identify the days that have the highest game retention.

Helpful tip: You can filter by game to view trends for one or more game's retention trends across a period of time since launch.
